Track Back X10

Hello Everybody,

Is it only my watch or is it normal that the Track back function works only from the very end until the beginning.
Let me explain this better. If i record a route and save it in the activity memory, once i arrive at the end and start the track back it will guide me back in the exact same route... up to here is fine.
If i record a route and after few days i want to do the same route but reverse (from end until beginning) but I don't know where I am, the watch will take me first to the end and then to the beginning! shouldn't it take me to the closest position on the route and then to the beginning??
For this i select "play" in activity and "rewind" in navigation but still does not recognise the route but only the last point before starting the track back.

any explanation would be useful.

The Track back function will lead you the same way you came. If you want a dfifferent route that is the shortest possible route (usually the birds way) then you have to mark the beginning of the Route as home by using the Mark Home function and then you can later use the Find Home function. It will then give you the shortest way to your home point.

Yes, i use the Mark home function too and it works just fine, but what if i want to find the closest point on the track and from there go back to the beginning without going first to the end?

Hi,

I know what you mean, mine does something similar. Instead of leading me to the closest point first (or like in your case to the end), it points me in the direction of the start position, no matter where i am. Truthfully i've only tested this once when the watch was new to me, so i'm planning on trying it again now that i'm used to it. Will let you know what happens.

In the manual it does state that the track-back function "should" take you first to the closest point on the recorded track, and then lead u to the beginning via the same way you got there. If I have issues with it again i will ask the support at Suunto.

ta.
