Unless I am mistaken, it is extremely difficult to enter coordinates when in France. The French national maps are made by IGN, and though they are
GPS compatible, the
Suunto x10 does not have the required grid (UTM32) pre-programmed into it. The French IGN maps do have the universal WGS84 coordinates on them but there are no related gridlines and only about one co-ordinate per 20cm! If you're planning on scanning maps in and planning your route before you leave, fine, but if you need to quickly enter accurate coordinates while in a mountain refuge, forget it!
If anyone has a solution to this, do let me know!
