Thumbs down Ugly M9

My M9 totally shut down again.

I got M9 after 1 year waiting last year.

I found it takes at least 5 minutes for GPS start up under unblocked sky. GPS takes lots of battery power. I wonder the battery can last more than 20 minutes when GPS on.

After 2 battery charges, it shut down. I called Korean dealer and it refused to fix it because they don't import M9. I called Niche Retail and it refused to fix it because they only sell. I called Suunto America and it refused to fix it becuase I am not living in the USA. I called Suunto Headquarter and they can fix it if I pay round trip.

In the mean time it suddenly started to be charged.

The cover seperated twice, however, I can put it back. I was lucky not to lost the cover. Otherwise I would have to order to the Headquarter.

After 2 more charges (perhaps 4 - 5 charges after purchase, about a year after purchase) it shut down again. It was 2 months ago. From time to time I hook M9 to the charger expecting to revive it. Not this time yet.

I hope prospecting M9 users understand its limitation and possible Suunto support.

Just one tip!
Send it back to Finnland.SUUNTO was using a battery which could not stand the energy needs of the GPS.In some cases the watch would reset itself.Send the watch as long as it is under warranty.Avoid the American service center.

You wouldn't even need to go asfar as finland. Just drop a line at http://www.suuntousa.com/service.htm, which is the US portion of the company.
