Angry X9 software

I have bought an X9 at great expense, and am very disappointed in the software - as the X9 doesn't work with 'proper' mapping software I've done as it says and scanned a map in, calibrated it - but when i then check another known point for co-ordinates it's miles (and mean miles) out. The co-ordinates change by 1 full degree when I move the cursor 1km! Also, when moving the cursor due E-W both co-ordinates change.

Am I doing something wrong or is the software dodgy?

Andy -

When it comes to technical issues like the GPS software, your best bet will be to get in touch with SuuntoUSA's Tech Department - they can help you determine if your problems are user error or if something is wrong with your unit.

You can reach the Suunto Tech department at (800) 543-9124 - if you want to, let us know what you find out from them!

I've contacted the tech people in Finland, but they seem to assume it's to do with a track I've downloaded - whcih it isn't. I'm getting the coordinates from some other software - the watch isn't involved!!

I finally have an answer after endless e-mails - there's a bug in the software that puts a comma instead of a point in the co-ordinates you enter for the calibration points. Now why did I have to find that instead of their testers?
