Question Temperature compensation

I'm debating between two Suunto watches, the Observer (which apparently has temperature compenstion for the barometer), and the Metron, which may or may not be temperature compensated. The HR feature of the Metron would be useful to me but not more than an accurate altimeter/barometer. Is the Observer a better altimeter/barometer?

Many thanks in advance,

Perry

All Suunto wristop models are temperature compensated. I wouldn't say the Altimeter on the Observer models is better than the one on the Metron. They just operate a little different. Here are the differences:

1.) The E203/Observer/X6/X6HR all register elevation in 3 foot increments. The Metron/Vector/Advizor/Xlander/Altimax
register elevation in ten foot increments. However, the sensors used are the same.

2.) The E203/Observer/X6/X6HR have a feature that you basically set to use the altimeter or use the barometer. When you use the altimeter it shows elevation changes. When you use the barometer it shows barometric trends and locks the altimeter so that you are at the same altitude reading regardless of changes in weather or elevation.
