Question observer or other model?

i just purchased an observer (ss body and elastomer band) and love the features, looks, apparent quality, etc. however, after discovering this forum and suunto web sites, i'm wondering if a different suunto watch might be a better fit.

i kayak (salt water) and swim a lot, and would never use the altimeter on the observer. would there be a watch that is waterproof, without the altimeter, yet still tough? durability & function are more important than looks.

your opinions and knowledge of suunto products will be appreciated.

Which functions would you like to have in your watch?

Yes, the mineral glass is the most durable, you can pretty much chose any model of ours with the mineral glass and it will have those functions. Your best bet is to take a look at our compatibility chart. http://www.suuntowatches.com/cgi-loc...?num=0&order=2
