I am the happy owner of an
Observer, but have some queries.
As I understand it, if it's in altimeter mode and you go indoors, draughts etc will distort it, and it needs to be reset. Is there any way round this - can you set the altimeter, then change to barometer mode, and only return to altimeter when you're outside ? Is it worth setting the altimeter with sea level pressure: is this just a last resort, not as good as using a topographical reading ?
Another query: I understand on the barometer low pressure = bad weather, high = good. Is there any more sophisticated analysis possible. Eg what's the differnce weather wise between staying low pressure, and faaling from high to low?
I feel that such a sophisticated piece of equipment should be accompanied by a more detailed instruction booklet.
Thanks
