Accuracy of the T3 Calorie Calculations

Purchased the T3 recently and am very happy with it. I just have a question regarding the accuracy of the Calorie Burn Calculations. How accurate is the T3?

The information entered into the watch is the class, height, weight, age, and activity class, relying on the T3 for its calculations for Min Max heart rate etc. Started at class 6 but just recently the watch moved me up to Class 7.

Is there anything I need to do to get a better reading or is this enough?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Never accept activity class "updates"

Hi!
The activity class seems to be a bunch of bunk. After running daily for two weeks straight, my T3 wanted to "demote" me to Activity Class 5.0.

I don't trust the Training Effect, either, as I seem to train at a 5.0 level (maximum) every time I go running!

Yes, my data is accurate -- maximum heart rate of 200, Activity Class of 6 (1-3 hours a week of training)

However, in regards to your question, I find that the calorie burn seems to be very consistent (it shows approx. 835 Calories/hour at a heart rate of 160). I always use my foot pod, but don't know if this is correlated into the data. I doubt it, for a watch that costs less than $150.

Calorie calculations mess

As a matter of fact the calorie calculations seemed consistent in the beginning but recently I have received some really odd results from laps with distance and average heartrate being roughly the same but calories still differing a lot (we talk three times or more)

Hence I am actually quite curious in how Sunto T3 actually measure burnt calories since it is obviously not just from weight and distance?
Is it somehow based on the heartrate/TE which might explain things since the heart belts seems quite unreliable from time to time?
