T6c Foot Pod help

Got maybe some dumb questions concerning the foot pod.

1. Are you required to pair it? Because I have tried it countless times but it never works. Yet, when I run it tracks the speed and distance.

2. Part of the pairing question. It says to turn it on. Other than jogging in place is there any other way?

3. I don't think the distance is accurate. Read the instructions on calibrating it. So when I go to calibrate the default value is 1.0000, regardless if I just finished a run or not. So what do I change the number to? Should it be the distance that I just ran?

Really need some help on this one b/c the instructions kind of suck. Thanks!

Hi tacco46,

1. Based on what you are saying it is already paired.

2. it gets on automatically when you shake it... so, when you are starting to walk.

3. To calibrate, you have to run a known distance to a normal running pace for you.
So, start training session in the watch (push start/stop button), cover a known distance so the watch can record the distance.
Push stop (important: don't finish the training session holding LAP+ button!!!)
Then, hold mode, go to spd/dist > calibrate > foot POD > calibrate > enter the real distance
After this, you will see how the calibration factor (that was initially set to 1.0000) is now a different number.

I think the calibration factor (the one which is set to 1.0000) is just real distance divided by recorded distance. You can calibrate it for different paces. Longer strides will have higher calibration factor. And change the calibration factor directly if you know that that day you will run faster.

I hope it helped,

F

Sounds like your foot pod is already paired so no need to pair it again.

In case you need to pair it again the new foot pods need to be turned upside down for pairing. Works like a charm.

As far as calibration I use known distance on my regular route which is exactly 1 mile and then use the calibration on the fly. I need to adjust the calibration for treadmill or run outside. I found the foot pod to be fairly consistent for my foot strike regardless of the shoes I wear. Most of my shoes are light neutral trainers.
