T1C concept rowing machine doesnt pick up belt

Hello,

I bought the T1c primarily for its connection with rowing machines at my club, i used several different friends suunto heart rate straps (comfort) and they all connected with the rowing machine.

I decided to purchase a suunto hr monitor of my own, so i could wear the strap whilst training and it be displayed on screen and not have to wear the watch.

I received my hr monitor and the rowing machine does not recognise the belt.
any suggestions? there all PM4 screens
