come on people!!!! h-E-L-P here is my second work out ,,,, today i did a hard spinning class, as the manual said i entered a TE OF 3.0 ( I do 3 days a week exercise) for 40 minutes of training... here is the log data 35´55.2 TE 4.6 ( I started TE at 3.0 and "0:40") HR 84% AVERAGE HR 94% PEAK ENERGY 23KCAL INSIDE 00.04 ABOVE 00:31 BELOW 00.00 the activity class says 5.0 ( what is this?) and level 4 ( what is this?) .. well,,,, i don´t get it.... do you know how is calculation the kcal consumption? i will read your guide right now! thanks! but why do you think that is a setting thing? why the trendmille shows differents values - 400kcal - and this watch shows only between 20-30kcal ???? i tried to test it without working out and it shows the same kcal , for example, in a HR of 50% - doing nothing - i burn 5kcal in 10 minutes, so , in 40 min of spinning class i burned 29kcal... i´m almost crazy!!!!!!!!

Check the weight on the settings under personal. The exact opposite was happening to me. I was burning 2000 calories for a 25 minute run. Then checked settings and I weighed 1000 something pounds.

You're right that something is clearly wrong. I did a 40 min session at 3.0 and got a figure of 336kcal. All my sessions give kcals in the hundreds, whether short 30 minute, or longer 60 minute sessions at a range of TEs. Something you can do to begin to isolate the problem: I wanted to make sure that my own watch was calculating correctly so I did the following calculation: Multiply Training time by Average HR and divide total by kcal given (for each day) For all of my sessions the result was approx 15 (plus or minus 2, depending on min and max HR in each session), which suggests a consistency in the calculation by the watch and transmitter. If you do this calculation, you will know if the watch is working consistently. If it is, then the problem has to be in the personal inputs. If it's not consistent (i.e, within 2 or 3 points) then the problem is likely to be the signal not being transmitted properly. Dave

I have the same problem with my T4C. I have been using my T4C for about 7 months 3-5 times a week before the problems started. Before my typical numbers for one hour run were in the order of avg heart rate 150 bpm, max 170 bpm, kalories burned ~ 500 kcal Now the last 5 or 6 runs have resulted in max hr ~210 and ~20 kcal burned .I have tried resetting and pairing again the clock and the hr pod. I've also replaced the batteries for my watch and the pod, but nothing seems to help. I'll contact Suunto and try to remember to report back to here what do they have to say about this problem. -- Pauli

Hello again, I did a reset for the hr pod by inserting the battery the wrong way into the hr pod before pairing the hr pod with the clock again (also mentioned in the user's manual). This seemed to do the trick, because now my t4c shows resonable readings while running... At least after one go... ![]() -- Pauli
