| T6C & Garmin Edge 705 Hello all, just purchased a T6C (after using many years the Polar 725X) and I guess i have to get used to the new way of usage. The polar was great for excersizing and the Suunto feels more like a Kid's model compared to Polar. The Software needs a lot of work and effort to really get into it. Oh well. What I wanted to ask is if I do use the Garmin GPS Edge 705 with Garmin Speed- & Cadence-Sensor, will my T6C read this ANT+ sensor and its values? That way I only need one sensor on the back of my bike, instead of the Suunto one for Speed in the front and Cadence in th back. Anybody ever tested it?! Danke, Mark |

| Hello Mark, Quote:
I am thinking about buying a T6c or T4c with bike sensors and your experience can be valuable for me. I was also thinking of buying a Garmin GPS Edge 705 or similar (Oregon maybe), but at a later date: all those gadgets are expensive for me. Why do you want to use Garmin with bike sensors, instead of Suunto? My understanding is that it's better to connect sensors to Suunto or any proper bike computer, if only because Garmin eats batteries so much faster and one day you will be without readings. Best wishes, Nickolai |

| Hello Nickolai, the main reason for the change from Polar to Suunto was the poor quality of the components. Now after the change I do miss all those great functions, the Polar indeed had. I am not too unhappy with the Suunto, does have some benefits too. Overall the Polar give you way more informations and analyze then the T6C. The Software on the Polar is also more convenient to use. The Garmin 705 does not read the heartrate monitor of the Suunto (and vice versa). There is an ANT and an ANT+ technology, which are not compatible! So watch out. The Garmin Edge 705 is just great for the bike and you do not need 2 seperate sensors to get speed and cadence. All combined in one unit (looks much better). I don't want to ride without my Edhe 705 anymore. Well the Suunto thing, I guess everyone has to decide what they want and what they need. If you train intervals, want an easy data analyse on the PC, higher storage capacity on the watch for your workouts, then stick to the top end Polar products. If you are looking for accurate HR readings, finding paired pods (HR, Foot Pod, etc) and a unique look, then go to Suunto. I hope the day will come (when I am still sportive active), that all these companies can unfify their methods and equipment is exchangeable. Yeah, maybe a dream for a long time!!! Mark
