When I exported my recent
training session data from
training manager into Firstbeat ATHLETE, many sessions had calculated error percentages that were very high. My run this morning had a Error percentage of 72%! When I disabled "artifact correction" for many portions of the session, the BPM was spiking between 0 and 550bpm. Most of the run, my HR was plotted as "RED", which I believe means that the results are being interpolated.
I have maybe a combined 30 hours of use on the HR belt; the watch is less than a year old, so I can't believe that battery life is the problem. My watch is on my wrist, and never more than 2 feet from the belt, so I can't believe that there is anything blocking transmission.
I also noticed that it seems to provide non-interpolated readings more often when my HR is recovering (I'm doing run/walk intervals), and is using interpolated results when my HR is climbing, following a walk interval.
Can anybody tell me why the error percentage is so high, or provide some insight as to what is considered "normal".
Thanks.
