T6 with foot POD on eliptical machine

Has anyone successfully used the T6 with Foot POD on an eliptical machine? I cannot seem to get the Foot POD to register speed or distance accurately (or at all) if the eliptical machine has any incline associated with it. Suggestions, ideas or experiences?
