T1 not recognising heartrate belt

I have just bought a T1, but when going to training mode, it cannot find the belt. The message "check belt" comes up. If I press the back button for 2 secs, it says "code not found".

I have licked the sensors, checked the battery is fitted correctly, tried a battery on a belt I know works, tried an uncoded Suunto belt, and nothing works.

Can anyone help?

I also purchsed a new coded T1. I have had the watch for 48 hours. Everything went fine during my setup, and I wore the watch training yesterday...with success. However, today while on the treadmill, my HR display just stopped and "searching" appeared on the screen. I followed the troubleshooting suggestions in the manual, and when hardpressing the Alt/Back button, the watched displayed "Code not found." I then took the battery out and reinserted it as suggested by the manual, but that did not work. I am waiting to recieve a response from Suunto customer service. Were you able to solve your "Code not found" problem? If so, can you relay your troubleshooting answers to me?
