I started doing triathlon's this past summer and have been bitten by the bug. My
training up until this point has been managed completely by feel (aka without any
training aids) and as I start to look ahead to next season, I want to take my game up a notch.
I have been researching (on this forum and others) buying a
training computer and after a lot of reading and comparing of spec sheets, I've come down on the
Suunto T6c with the Triathlete
Pack as it seems to have everything I'll need in one package (as opposed to getting separate cycle computers & running computers...). The only thing that is holding me back is the software.
I've read over and over that
Suunto makes a great watch but the software still leaves a lot to be desired and is no where near as polished as the Polar application. So, I'm thinking that I may have to resort to a third party solution. I've reviewed the WKO+ site and the FirstBeat site. Ideally I would like to be using just one resource.
So, what are people's thoughts on a Triathlete focused software
training solution? WKO+? TrainingPeaks on-line? FirstBeat? Or are all of these over-kill for someone just getting serious about the sport (although I am a bit of a data / toy geek and analyzing my workouts is part of the attraction of the watch!) Is the
Suunto application really that bad? Is it so bad that I should reconsider and go with a Polar?
Thoughts?
