When will the T4/T6 watches with foot pod track cadence?

I wonder about the availability of cadence with the foot pod? It seems that the pod should be able to track it (like the Garmin 405 or Polar RS800 do). I had heard rumors that Suunto and Garmin even use the same Pod so the question is does Suunto intend to enable this feature through a firmware update or add it in the future? Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated as the lack of running cadence is the only thing holding me back from buying the watch today.
